On 27 July 1949, at Hartsfield Rugby Ground in Bulawayo, Rhodesia beat the touring New Zealand side 10–8 in front of about 10,000 people.
J.A. Brink and Claude Jones scored the tries, both converted by Ed Karg, with John Morkel captaining the side. Three days later the teams met again in Salisbury and drew 3–3.
Rhodesia wore green and white hoops for international matches. This jersey brings them back.
